Sudden Death
An Old Citizen, Mr. D. C. HURLBURT , Drops Dead While Transacting Business.

On Saturday afternoon last, at about 4 oclock, a customer called at the
carriage establishment of Hurlburt & Bowers, on East Market street, to get
some washers. The senior member of the firm, Mr. Hurlburt, waited upon him,
and as he handed him the washers he remarked that he felt badly, and when the
customer turned to go Mr. H. called to him to catch him as he was about to
fall. The gentleman assisted him to a chair, when he immediately expired.
Heart disease was the immediate cause of death. He leaves a wife and one son
to mourn his departure, and a large number of old, well known friends. He was
about 65 years old, and these years were well spent in successful business
undertakings. He was buried with Masonic honors on Tuesday, at 2 p.m. from
the Methodist church, in Woodlawn cemetery
