FORMER MAYOR OF LIMA DIES AT HIS HOME

commission form of government, died September 25th at his home, 627 W. Spring-
st. He had been in ill health for about a year."

Memorial hall. His parents were among the early settlers of Allen-co.
Following his graduation from high school here, CUNNINGHAM attended the
University if Michigan. After completing his training he operated a drug
store on the southwest corner of Public-sq for 37 years. In 1922, when Lima
adopted the commission-manager form of government, CUNNINGHAM was a member of

years. He was a member of K. of P. Lodge No. 91.

first and most efficient pharmacists, CUNNINGHAM also played a prominent part
in the establishment of local banking institutions. He was one of the
original members of the Old National-City bank board of directors.

During his time as mayor, he instigated many improvements, including the
repaving of Main-st and other major thoroughfares in the city. As one of the
founders and organizers of the Lima Historical society, CUNNINGHAM was the
prime motivating factor in the development of the Memorial hall institution
into its present status as Allen County Historical and Archaeological society.

Surviving are a brother, THEODORE DOAN CUNNINGHAM of Evanston, Ill., and a
nephew, DONALD CUNNINGHAM, of Lima. His wife died six years ago.
